I’m not photogenic. Is this really for me?
Especially for you. After more than 40 years photographing women, I’ve learned that being “photogenic” isn’t something a lucky few are born with. Good light, flattering positioning, expression, clothing and direction make an enormous difference. You don’t have to know how to look good in pictures. That’s why you hired me.
I’m not a businesswoman. Do I need a professional look?
Not at all. “Professional” simply means the version of you that represents what you do in the world. You might be an entrepreneur, artist, volunteer, author, community leader, retired professional or someone beginning an entirely new chapter. We’ll make that first look fit your life, not somebody else’s idea of professional.
What should I wear?
Don’t worry. We’re going to figure that out together. Your personal wardrobe consultation is part of the experience. We’ll discuss your three outfits, colors, necklines, accessories and which pieces will photograph beautifully.
Do I have to wear a formal gown for my gala look?
Absolutely not. “Gala” means your version of dressed up. That might be a cocktail dress, fabulous pants and a dramatic blouse, velvet, sequins, a favorite jacket or the little black dress you’ve loved forever.
Will someone do my hair?
There will not be a hairstylist on site. I’ve found that women often feel most like themselves when their hair looks the way they normally wear it, rather than having a new stylist create something unfamiliar. Come with your hair styled the way you love it.
What does a makeup refresh mean?
Cameron Black Makeup Artistry will enhance and polish your existing look for the camera rather than giving you an elaborate makeover. The goal is for your friends to say, “You look amazing!” not, “Who is that?”
How long should I plan to be there?
Plan approximately [insert final appointment length] for makeup, wardrobe changes, photography and time to enjoy the experience. We’ll give you an exact arrival time before the event.
Can I bring someone with me?

When will I see my portraits?
After your session, we’ll schedule your personal portrait reveal. That’s when you’ll see the finished images, select the ten included in your collection and decide whether you’d like to add an album, framed portrait or additional prints. No overwhelming online gallery. We’ll choose them together.
Can I purchase more than the ten included portraits?
Absolutely. Additional professionally printed portraits, framed wall artwork and custom albums will be available. There is never any obligation to purchase beyond your included collection.
Do I receive digital images?
Yes. You will receive matching digital files of the ten portraits you select for your printed collection.
What if I need to cancel?
Your reservation retainer is [insert refundable/non-refundable policy] because your appointment is one of only ten available. If something unexpected happens, please contact me as soon as possible. [Insert transfer/rescheduling policy.]
Where is Henn Mansion?
Henn Mansion is a beautiful historic home in Euclid, Ohio, overlooking Lake Erie. Its elegant rooms, leaded-glass windows, grand piano, architectural details and grounds give us an extraordinary variety of settings without leaving the property.
